Re-Inspired by the Women of the African Rural University in Uganda

Just finishing a 10-day trip to the African Rural University in Uganda. It's so refreshing to be at an institution that practices reflective conversations and collaborative design as their modus operandi!

The women who graduate from this all-women University receive a Bachelor of Science in Technologies for Rural Transformation. I visited several recent graduates in the rural areas where they are now working as Rural Transformation Specialists. Their clients--the members of two dozen rural communities--of all ages -- proudly showed me their accomplishments: new businesses, new schools, new homes (created by school girls and their moms), new roads, new agricultural products--all catalyzed by these amazing young women. They don't provide seed money, nor experts. They DO teach people to be self-reliant, resourceful, create their own visions of what they want to accomplish and help them work tirelessly to achieve those visions, adjusting as they go.
