Any Reactions to New iPad Mini??

Posted Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Online, Mobile & IT by Patricia Seybold

Apple announced its 7.9" iPad Mini today. I didn't get a chance to watch the announcement since I was on a plane, but, according to the WSJ,

Apple said pricing for the iPad Mini would start at $329 for a version with 16 gigabytes of memory and Wi-Fi wireless access. That would price it above some rival tablets of similar size. Versions able to connect with LTE networks would cost $130 more. Apple said it would begin taking orders on Nov. 2.

They also announced a 4th gen iPad, with prices starting at $499--same as the current iPad.

What do you guys think? Will you order one?? For yourself, or for family members??

I'm trying to decide whether to use the iTouch or the Mini iPad as a roving video camera.. need to do some research..The iTouch is REALLY easy to use IMHO.

Probably yes. The price point is "doable" and I need to get something for Aviva to use. She's not comfortable with the small screen of an iPhone/iTouch & a new (maxi) iPad seems like a lot of money. So this just might be the compromise I am looking for.

At $249 or even $289, it would have been a no-brainer, but Apple has a way of placing their pricing price points just slight above what the average consumer is happy to pay. My biggest complaint about the iPad mini is that it's a sixteenth of an inch too wide to fit in my suit pocket!

David-- Really interesting about the MISS on the coat pocket dimensions...I can't believe that Steve Jobs would have made that mistake...but maybe these guys don't WEAR suits! Patty
