On October 15, 2003, Siebel announced its intentions to acquire two CRM companies: UpShot Corporation and Motiva, Inc. UpShot has been successful offering hosted sales force automation capabilities. Motiva has developed sophisticated sales incentive compensation software. UpShot brings experience in hosted software, a successful product line, and a large customer base. Motiva brings functionality and technology. As a result, Siebel strengthens its SFA capabilities, technology, and packaging. This report presents our take on these acquisitions.
