Recommendation Solution Evaluation Blank Matrix, Version 2

Evaluating Recommendation Engines, Platforms or Services

September 22, 2011

Recommendations are hitting their stride. A decade ago merchants and publishers saw the recommendations on Amazon’s site and wanted it. A decade ago they had to spend a fortune to get it. Today, recommendation engines can be had for some thousands of dollars a month, and implemented in a few weeks.

To aid our customers in choosing a recommendation platform or service provider, I offer a set of requirements and evaluation criteria set forth in the evaluation framework. You can use this blank matrix to build your own comparison of the offerings on your shortlist. And I will be evaluating a number of the leading products using the framework during 2012.
